Visiting Hot Rods Beat Cubs, 8-5
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter David Harbold, the Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the South Bend Cubs, 8-5. Harbold was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI for the Hot Rods. Bowling Green reliever Bill May picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Christopher S Roberts took the loss. A.J. Thieke was credited with the save for Bowling Green, his 11th of the season.
Early in the game, Harbold had a bases-clearing triple for Bowling Green. It was his 5th triple of the season and put the Hot Rods on top, 3-0.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Harbold told the Bowling Green Herald.
At 41-63, the Hot Rods claim last place in the Eastern Division.
