TinCaps Hang 5-1 Loss on Dragons

The Fort Wayne TinCaps defeated the Dayton Dragons, 5-1, in Midwest League action at Parkview Field. Fort Wayne pitcher Jonathan Texter had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Texter, now 7-1. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. The 4th-place TinCaps go to 66-38.
Early in the game, second baseman Rodger Kerkhof had a 2-run home run for Fort Wayne. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the TinCaps on top, 2-0.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Fort Wayne manager Adam Will. "Our pregame was pretty good."
