The 5-3 Clinton win over Kane County was due in large part to Tommy Dwyer. The LumberKings center fielder threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. Shane Mattila picked up the save for Clinton, his 6th of the year. Clinton is now 38-66.

The LumberKings got an important contribution from second baseman Fernando Matos, who in the bottom of the third punched a 1-2 splitter into right for a 2-run double. It was his 16th double of the season and put the LumberKings ahead, 3-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Dwyer said.
