Whitecaps Lose 2-0 Decision to Bowling Green
Ronnie Hoover pitched a gem to lead Bowling Green to victory over the West Michigan Whitecaps, 2-0. Hoover got the win, improving to 4-11. He gave up 8 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Victor Moya earned the save for Bowling Green.

The Whitecaps had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Hot Rods going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder Jose Medina came to the plate. Medina hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from West Michigan hurler Pat Blair. It was Medina's 3rd home run of the year.

Said West Michigan manager Noah Fourie: "When you don't score, it's never a good thing."

The 6th-place Whitecaps now sit at 51-53.
