LumberKings Thrill Fans with 2-1 Win
|
The Clinton LumberKings earned a close win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, thanks in part to Chris Jones. The Clinton right-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2109 draft, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Eddie Miller, now 5-7, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. At 38-66, Clinton is in 7th place in the Western Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Floyd in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Marc Halliwell to win the game for Clinton. The home crowd went nuts.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Jones. "Maybe this win will help."
