Thrilling Victory Pushes River Bandits Win Streak to 5
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits faced a tough opponent in Cedar Rapids pitcher Bobby Brown, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Veterans Memorial Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Brown went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was Isaiah Hollis. He is now 10-5. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Today's win puts Quad Cities at 66-39, while Cedar Rapids falls to 41-64.
Ted Chapin helped out the Quad Cities cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
Chapin said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
