Loons Topple Lugnuts, 4-1, as Kruse Shines
|
The Great Lakes Loons knocked off the Lansing Lugnuts, 4-1, at Dow Diamond. Curt Kruse was a big reason Great Lakes won. The second baseman was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Great Lakes, at 72-33, holds down second place in the Eastern Division.
With Great Lakes leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Kruse hit a sinker from Chris Bowen for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Loons ahead, 3-0.
"They played a better game than we did," said Lansing skipper Osamu Nakao.
