The Peoria Chiefs defeated the Burlington Bees, 5-2, in Midwest League action at Community Field. Peoria pitcher Javy Villarreal had a standout performance. Villarreal got the win, improving to 10-6. He gave up 7 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. After today's action, Peoria sits at 57-49; Burlington slips to 52-53.

Had Rafael Luque not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Luque hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Chiefs.
