Dayton Edges Lake County in Extra Innings
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Dayton Dragons and the Lake County Captains, 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jack McDowell was the difference-maker. The Dayton right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win in 10 innings. Dayton is 4th in the Eastern Division with a record of 52-55.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 21-year old second baseman Jared Miller had a chance to be the hero. Lake County pitcher John Forrester wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Miller hit a sacrifice fly. The Dragons had themselves a thrilling win.
"Jack was outstanding," said Dayton manager Jorge Rosado.
