Bees Topple Kernels, 7-1, as Ellis Shines
|
The 7-1 Burlington win over Cedar Rapids was due in large part to Adrian Ellis. The Bees first baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Burlington has now won 4 games in a row.
The Bees got a big at-bat from left fielder David Hardy. For the game, Hardy was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Burlington a 2-0 lead.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Burlington skipper Ethan Isler. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
