The Beloit Snappers picked up a win at Harry C. Pohlman Field, knocking off the Peoria Chiefs, 4-0. Starting pitcher Jason James played a key role in the triumph. Javy Pineda earned the save for Beloit, his 1st. The Snappers sit in 7th place in the Western Division with a record of 39-69.

The Chiefs had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Snappers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder John Jenkins came to the plate. Jenkins hit a 2-run triple on a 1-0 cutter from Peoria hurler Ray Blasetti. It was Jenkins's 2nd triple of the year.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said James.
