Bees Drop Timber Rattlers, 7-6
|
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers got a superb performance from shortstop Jeremy Zanes, but the Burlington Bees still won the game, 7-6. Zanes went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. Marquise Ceresa closed it out for Burlington, earning his 2nd save. The victory gives Burlington a record of 54-53.
Morgan Gross had a big 3-run home run for the Bees in the bottom of the third inning. With Burlington leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Bob Navarro, who is tied for 3rd in the MID in complete games with 2, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Bees on top, 7-2.
"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Gross.
