|
Lansing parlayed a decent outing from starter Ramon Silva into a solid win over the Lake County Captains. The final score was 3-2. Silva, now 3-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Mel Arreola earned the save for Lansing.
Adam Arnett had a big run-scoring double for the Lugnuts in the bottom of the first inning. With Lansing leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a knuckle curve from Seth Schubert, who is tied for 6th in the MID in wins with 11, and swatted a double to center. It was his 35th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lugnuts ahead, 3-0.
"Tough loss," said Lake County manager Garrett Holt. "But we'll rebound from it."
The 7th-place Lugnuts hiked their record to 42-67.
