Justin Miller, who is tied for 8th in the MID in complete games with 2, was locked in. The right-hander led the Burlington Bees to a 6-1 win against the Quad Cities River Bandits at Modern Woodmen Park. The first-place Bees, at 75-34, now lead their division by 9 games.

Miller, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 7 in 9 innings and gave up 1 run.

Miller, who is tied for 8th in the MID in complete games with 2, moves to 3-0 on the year with 35 strikeouts.

"I didn't want to let them take the game from my hands," said Miller.
