Dragons Handle Captains, Grab 7-4 Win
|
The Dayton Dragons defeated the Lake County Captains, 7-4, at Classic Park. Leading the charge for Dayton was center fielder Adrian Carranza. He was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Rich Gallegos, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. At 64-46, the Dragons claim first place in the Eastern Division.
Carranza contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Dayton in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 4-3, Carranza took a slider from Guilherme Sarracines and stroked the home run to left. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Dragons to leap in front, 7-4.
"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Carranza said in postgame remarks.
