The Lake County Captains picked up a win at Cooley Law School Stadium, topping the Lansing Lugnuts, 2-0. On the mound for Lake County was right-hander Manny Castro. He played a principal role in the triumph. Kevin Rice recorded the save, his 7th. Lake County is now 71-39, while Lansing is 42-68.

Lake County used the timely hitting of Danny Jacobo to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Captains on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This was a game where every at-bat, every pitch counted," said Jacobo.
