Kane County Cougars starter Chris Reimer turned in an exceptional performance against the Beloit Snappers at Harry C. Pohlman Field, resulting in a Kane County win, 5-2. The Cougars lead the Western Division by 5½ games.

Kane County used a well-timed hit by Mike Rubi to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Cougars ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Kane County manager Vince Lindsay praised his team's "no BS approach."
