The Lansing Lugnuts beat the Great Lakes Loons, 2-0. Lansing pitcher and Midwest City, Oklahoma, native Kevin Brannon led the way. Lansing reliever August Wichsberger was the winner. His record is now 7-4. Carlos Lemus took the loss. With the win, Lansing raised its record to 72-41.

Had Miguel Dominguez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Dominguez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Lugnuts.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Dominguez said.
