Great Lakes Loons starter Matt Bartos turned in an exceptional performance against the Lansing Lugnuts at Cooley Law School Stadium, resulting in a Great Lakes win, 8-1. Bartos got the win, improving to 7-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Great Lakes is looking good at 77-37.

Great Lakes used the timely hitting of Evan Sanft to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Loons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Lansing manager Robert Ely.
