Quad Cities second baseman Chad Erickson was sensational. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Kane County beat the River Bandits, 4-3. The win belongs to Ken Schuller in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Greg Larson took the loss for Quad Cities. The first-place Cougars improved to 74-40.

Jon Staton had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Kane County. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Kane County in front, 4-2.

"This team keeps racking up the wins," said Cougars manager Mike Haskin.
