Late Rally by River Bandits Locks Up 2-1 Win
|
The Burlington Bees got a superb performance from pitcher David Muacho. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Quad Cities. The River Bandits won the game, 2-1. Muacho threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Bees have now dropped 5 straight.
Quad Cities took a 2-1 lead on Jeff Reed's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Reed hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Burlington pitcher Ernie Anderson visibly frustrated.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Burlington manager Brian Zimmerman, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
