Captains 6-1 Victors Over Loons
|
Good production from shortstop Ben Roller helped the Lake County Captains topple the Great Lakes Loons, 6-1. Roller went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Captains. Ben Tourville picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-5. He struck out 7 in 6 innings. The save went to Darryl Patterson, number 1 for him.
Lake County used the hitting of Jonathan Kay to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Captains on top, 4-0. For the game, Kay had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Said losing manager Ivan Cruz: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
Lake County is now 60-56, while Great Lakes is 64-53.
