Lippoldt Dominant in Cubs Victory
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the South Bend Cubs and Lansing Lugnuts.

South Bend picked up a win at Cooley Law School Stadium, bumping off the Lansing Lugnuts, 1-0. Pitcher Nick Lippoldt was a major reason the Cubs emerged victorious. Jose Camacho was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 31 save opportunities.

Lippoldt allowed no runs over 7.2 innings. He also racked up 6 strikeouts.

"This losing is getting old," said Lansing manager Robert Ely.

The Cubs, at 70-49, sit in third place in the Eastern Division.
