Captains Topple TinCaps, 5-1
|
Lake County starter Justin Scharrer put a stranglehold on the Fort Wayne offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Captains to a 5-1 win. Matt Scott picked up the save for Lake County, his 11th of the year. Lake County is now 83-36.
The fans who came to support the Captains were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Classic Park.
Scharrer pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
