In a tight tilt between the Great Lakes Loons and the Dayton Dragons, Chris Thompson was the deciding factor. The Great Lakes left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Thompson, now 9-8. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. James Murano locked down his 13th save.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Alex Dotto, who is tied for 9th in the MID with a .309 batting average, hit a triple. The Loons went on to win.
