Murphy's Season Could be Over Friday, July 10th , 2111 The season is ending on a bad note for Kevin Murphy, starting pitcher for the Gwinnett Braves. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Murphy was hurt against the Toledo Mud Hens while throwing a pitch. He suffered a torn rotator cuff and will be out for at least 5-6 months. Up to now Murphy has compiled an ERA of 2.19 with a 9-3 mark over 18 starts. He has 120 strikeouts in 119.1 innings and has held opponents to a .219 batting average. |
