Servantez Hits 3 Homers Against Indianapolis
Wednesday, July 11th , 2108
Alberto Servantez brutalized the Indianapolis Indians pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 8-5 Toledo victory at Victory Field. The Toledo Mud Hens first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Alberto Servantez today," Indians manager Rene Almanza said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Alberto Servantez hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Walls in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Walls in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Frank Henson in the 5th and walked in the 7th.
This season, Servantez is swinging the bat at a .372 rate with 32 hits in 86 at-bats. To date he has hit 7 home runs, scored 17 runs and driven in 19.
