Red-Hot Izquierdo Cools Off Rochester
Friday, July 17th , 2111
Dave Izquierdo bent a little, but he didn't break against the Rochester Red Wings. The Pawtucket Red Sox pitcher hurled a 4-hit, 4-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and tallying 6 strikeouts.
"Dave is good at getting out of jams," Red Sox manager David Larson told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
This year, Izquierdo has a 10-4 record with a 3.33 ERA in 19 starts.
