2-Game Suspensions for Newhouse-Juarez Fight Thursday, July 10th , 2110 Bad blood could be brewing between the Red Wings and the RailRiders. In yesterday's contest at PNC Field, Rochester's Brent Newhouse and Scranton WB's Rob Juarez caused the benches to empty when they went toe-to-toe against one another. Only Newhouse and Juarez were ejected by the umpires. Upon hearing that the two players had been suspended 2 games each by the league office, harsh comments came from both clubhouses. League officials have warned both organizations about the consequences of premeditated retaliation. This year, Newhouse has hit at a .214 clip with 6 RBIs, 1 home run and 8 runs scored. Thus far this season, Juarez has registered 21 relief appearances, worked 26.2 innings, struck out 33 and issued 18 walks. He has 1 save with a 4.72 ERA and a 4-3 won-lost mark. |
