Phillips, Phillips Suspended for Fracas Monday, July 21st , 2098 After an intense confrontation, both the Bats Jonathan Phillips and the Chiefs Shane Phillips were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Louisville-Syracuse game. Jonathan Phillips will miss 4 games, while Shane Phillips was suspended for 8 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jonathan Phillips commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Phillips is hitting .223 this year with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 61 hits in 274 at-bats, 36 walks and a .316 on-base percentage. Phillips has played in 84 games. For the season Phillips is 3-and-2 with no saves and a 3.50 ERA. He has given up 57 hits in 64.1 innings with 82 strikeouts. |
