Injury Sidelines Angelo Castillo for Season

Syracuse closer Angelo Castillo suffered a season-ending injury throwing a pitch in today's game against the Indians. According to club doctors Castillo has a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Although Castillo has declined to comment, sources close to the player have stated that he is "devastated" that he will miss the playoffs.
This season, in 17 relief appearances, Castillo has rung up 5 saves. He has 28 strikeouts and 12 walks in 19.2 innings while registering a 3.20 ERA and a 2-1 won-lost record. Opposing teams have hit .186 against him.
