Owens Shuts Down Red Sox, 2-0
Monday, August 11th , 2098
The Gwinnett Braves did little to support starter Frank Owens against the Pawtucket Red Sox, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Red Sox, striking out 6 and surrendering 5 hits. The performance from Owens allowed Gwinnett to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'Frank, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Owens told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

Thus far this season, Owens has worked 155 innings with 125 strikeouts en route to a 6-13 record and a 4.35 ERA.
