Rochester Loses Ford for Year Tuesday, August 25th , 2111 The Rochester Red Wings were dealt a severe blow when Jody Ford was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. After the game, the team trainer reported Ford might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 27-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with a torn labrum. They indicated it would take Ford at least 5-6 months to heal. This season, Ford has earned 7 saves, tossed 48.2 innings, made 34 relief appearances, fanned 63 hitters and posted an ERA of 3.51. Teams are hitting .217 against him. |
