Syracuse Captures North Division Crown
Monday, September 7th , 2111
Let loose, Syracuse fans, your team has won the North Division.
The Syracuse Chiefs have officially captured the crown, the 19th in franchise history.
"We've got a team that can do it all and we think do it just as well as anyone in the league," said starting pitcher Terry Gordon. "I hope no one is taking us lightly once the playoffs start."
Certainly the team's division crown will garner them a fair bit of respect, as the 75-66 record puts the club in position for the franchise's 7th International League championship.
"You never get tired of being in the playoffs," said manager Phil Burkel. "This is what you play for."
