Brown 5-for-5 Against Syracuse
Tuesday, August 26th , 2098
After a 5-hit effort to lead Scranton WB's 9-3 victory over the Syracuse Chiefs, third baseman Jared Brown told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the International League-level is really something special."

The 24-year-old player earned his accolades today at PNC Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Chiefs.

"His swing is getting there," said RailRiders skipper Justin Brock, who spoke glowingly of Brown after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jared did that to perfection today."

Jared Brown doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This year Brown is batting .332 with 10 home runs. He has scored 55 runs and driven in 68.
