Buffalo Ace Takes Pitcher of the Year Award Wednesday, October 8th , 2110 Franklin Castro was the most outstanding pitcher in the International League this year and today was acclaimed the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for his efforts. Castro had a marvelous season, going 2-2 with an impressive 1.68 ERA in 14 starts. He struck out 92 in 91.1 innings and limited opposing batters to a .164 batting average. He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 14. Casey Reavis of the Durham Bulls finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Alex Garza of the Toledo Mud Hens finished third.
