Hofmann No-Hits River Cats
Thursday, June 20th , 2109
Excitement reigned at Isotopes Park as Albuquerque Isotopes hurler Dan Hofmann tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Sacramento River Cats, 3-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Hofmann said. "Today I just went right at the River Cats as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Hofmann, who is tied for 2nd in the PC in complete games with 2, chalked up 6 strikeouts and allowed no walks in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Albuquerque manager Ryan Gangle.
To date this year, Hofmann shows a 5-3 record, 9 starts, 52.2 innings, 39 strikeouts and a 5.13 ERA.
