PC Player of the Week Goes to Ammons of Salt Lake Monday, June 2nd, 2059 After all of Jake Ammons's years in baseball, some have suggested -- albeit very delicately -- that he should think about calling it quits. But the "mature adult," as he calls himself, showed last week that he's still capable of keeping up with the youngsters. The 36-year-old Salt Lake third baseman was honored today as the Pacific Conference Player of the Week. He fended off all comers by posting a .444 average with 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs. Batting .272 to date, Ammons has 3 home runs and 13 RBIs. |
