July's Best Starter Named in PC Friday, August 1st , 2110 An outstanding 4-0 record in July earned Mike Race the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Pacific Conference. When his name was penciled in to start on the Las Vegas lineup card, it meant trouble for opposing teams. In 36 innings of work, Race limited opposing batters to 30 base hits and a .221 batting average. He notched 42 strikeouts, issued 14 walks and had a 2.75 ERA. Thus far this season, Race has worked 124.2 innings with 120 strikeouts en route to a 11-4 record and a 4.98 ERA. |
