Sanchez Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 23 Monday, August 11th , 2098 The hitting streak that Albuquerque first baseman Hugo Sanchez had kept going for 23 games was ended today by the Round Rock Express. Sanchez was stymied over 2 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 4-3 victory at Dell Diamond. "Hitting streaks come and go," Sanchez said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." Sanchez is currently batting .338 with 11 home runs and 63 RBIs. |
