Omaha Shuts Out Aces, Maas Winner Wednesday, August 13th , 2098 Rich Maas shut out the Reno Aces 5-0 on a 7-hit masterpiece for the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Omaha skipper Scott Davis said afterward. Maas registered 9 strikeouts and issued no walks in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Reno manager James Carter after the defeat.
