League Punishes Pair for Fighting Sunday, September 8th , 2109 After an intense confrontation, both the Isotopes Jordan Garcia and the Grizzlies Johnny Gibson were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Albuquerque-Fresno game. Jordan Garcia will miss 3 games, while Johnny Gibson was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jordan Garcia commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." This year, Garcia is batting .302 with 11 home runs and 52 RBIs. In 65 games he has scored 39 times. So far this season, Gibson has a 9-9 record with a 4.86 ERA. |
