River Cats End Ruiz Streak Wednesday, August 29th , 2108 The Sacramento River Cats pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Francisco Ruiz hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 6-3 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes at Raley Field. The disappointing performance ended a 30-game hitting streak for the center fielder. "I'm a little down right now," Ruiz said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." This year, Ruiz has hit 19 home runs and posted a .356 batting average. |
