Zephyrs Jones Gone for Year Thursday, August 28th , 2098 The New Orleans Zephyrs were dealt a severe blow when Adam Jones was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Omaha Storm Chasers. After the game, the team trainer reported Jones might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 32-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with shoulder inflammation. They indicated it would take Jones at least 4-5 months to heal. Up to now Jones has compiled an ERA of 4.28 with a 9-8 mark over 23 starts. He has 95 strikeouts in 160 innings and has held opponents to a .291 batting average. |
