River Cats Heading to Round 2
Friday, September 21st , 2108
The Sacramento River Cats "bent but didn't break" against the Albuquerque Isotopes in the Round 1.
That's according to David Carroll Jr. of Sacramento, who was named series MVP.
"Our guys faced adversity and overcame it. This series wasn't easy, but we stuck to our game and made it work," he said.
Sacramento won the final game by a 4-0 count and the series 3-1.
Carroll Jr.'s MVP performance included hitting .444 with a .444 on-base percentage. He also had 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Sacramento River Cats don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Memphis Redbirds - Oklahoma City Dodgers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
