Barrett Youngs took Pacific Coast League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 24.

For his spectacular campaign, the Round Rock Express star has been named the 2110 American Conference Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the shortstop.

On the season he compiled a .290 batting average to go with a .332 on-base percentage. The native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota also added 27 doubles, 6 triples, 3 home runs, 33 RBIs and 65 runs scored.

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 16. Matt Sanchez of the Nashville Sounds finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Antonio Soler of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox finished third with 2 first place votes.
