Lenz Smacks 5 Hits for Sky Sox
Saturday, September 7th , 2097
After a 5-hit effort to lead Colorado Springs's 9-6 victory over the Round Rock Express, right fielder Ron Lenz told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Pacific Coast League-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades today at Dell Diamond with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Express.

"His swing is getting there," said Sky Sox skipper Danny Kenney, who spoke glowingly of Lenz after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ron did that to perfection today."

Ron Lenz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Juan Ulloa in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Timerman in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

To date this year Lenz is batting .200 with 5 home runs.
