Albuquerque Ace Wins PC Pitcher of the Year Award

Victor Solis of the Albuquerque Isotopes will be adding a new centerpiece to his mantel after being tabbed for the Pacific Conference Pitcher of the Year Award today.

The 33-year-old hurler started 28 games this season, tallying a 15-5 record. In 187.1 innings, Solis gave up 165 hits, struck out 164, walked 45 and held opponents to a .232 average as he posted a fine 2.98 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 16. Nigel Joseph of the Sacramento River Cats finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Juan Mata of the Albuquerque Isotopes finished third.
