Wood Sparkles in 1-0 Shutout Tuesday, September 2nd , 2098 In an outstanding mound performance, Hartford Yard Goats starter Mike Wood fired a complete-game shutout against the Erie SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park today. Wood was the key to the Yard Goats's 1-0 win. The 22-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 2 hits and no walks he allowed. "2 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." On the year Wood has compiled a 12-9 mark with a 3.15 ERA.
