Bowie's Dawson Takes 2110 Most Valuable Player Award
Monday, September 29th , 2110
At the age of 22, Chris Dawson of the Bowie Baysox could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2110 was good enough to win the center fielder the Eastern League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .306 batting average this year, as well as a .371 on-base percentage. He played 92 games and racked up 110 hits, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 12 home runs, 48 RBIs and 58 runs scored.
He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 12. James LaRatta of the Hartford Yard Goats finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Willie Verduzco of the Richmond Flying Squirrels finished third.
