EL Top Pitcher Award for July to Porter Sunday, August 1st, 2066 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Ricky Porter, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Hartford Yard Goats reliever, 24, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .167 average and walked away with the Eastern League Pitcher of the Month award for July. Porter posted a 4-0 mark and a 1.29 ERA in 2 relief appearances. In 28 innings, he had 1 save, 22 strikeouts, and 5 walks. So far this year Porter has made 8 relief appearances with 2 saves, thrown 67 innings and struck out 53 with a 9-1 record. |
